A 16-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE BARRELLED SPORTING GUN BY PATRICK OF LIVERPOOL, CIRCA 1832, no visible serial number, with 28 in skelp twist barrels the concave top rib engraved 'PATRICK LIVERPOOL', the breeches with platinum plugs, and replacement nipples, the fixed breech engraved to a high standard with foliate leafed patterns, bar-action locks also attractively engraved with foliate leaf patterns, the dolphin headed hammers engraved to match. iron mounted walnut half stocked with chequered wrist and forend, both worn, the iron mounts include a long tanged butt-cap, scroll trigger-guard and tail pipe all engraved to match, complete with brass tipped rod, in its day a top quality gun.

Provenance: The Liverpool firm of Patrick was founded by Jeremiah Patrick in 1795 at 36 Lombard St. from 1799 to 1803 they were at 47 Oldhall St. before moving to 44 Strand St. where they stayed until 1830, their final address being 10 Pool Lane, in 1832 they were succeeded by Williams & Powell
